KWERNERDESIGN.COM COLOR inspiration 21

I've been admiring many creations using Kristina Werner's fabulous COLOR inspirations for a while now. I had considered joining in the fun but I was either too late off the mark or I had something else more pressing like workshops or swaps or washing my hair (Hey! It gets itchy if I wait long enough!).

This time I only have a hundred and forty swaps to make for the Sydney regional on Saturday so she'll be apples1! Actually, choosing to take part in this COLOR inspiration just shows that I wasn't really committed to the swaps in the first place. Anyway, the snazzy colour combination chosen by Kristina:
KWernerDesign Color Inspiration 21

Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Regal Rose, Whisper White

I've had to adopt her suggestion of replacing two of the US SU!'s '08-'09 In Colors with Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. Thank you, Kristina, for the great inspiration. I suppose I should go back to pretending that I am working hard on those regional swaps...

Lin Mei's attempt at using KWerner's COLOR Inspiration 21Stampin' Supplies
Ink:
Basic Black
VersaMark

Stamps:
Kindness wheel
Sassy Stems set
Short & Sweet set

Cardstock:
Old Olive
Rose Red
Tempting Turquoise
Vellum

Accessories:
Aquapainter
Earth Elements brads
Heat Gun
Theater Ribbon Originals
Whisper White Grograin
White Embossing Powder
White Gel Pen
Watercolor Crayons (in every colour family except for Soft Subtles!)

1. Aussies don't really use the phrase "she'll be apples" nowadays so we have a giggle about its fuddy-duddiness whenever we see it in the Stampin' Up! G'Day Mate stamp set. OK...so I speak for myself!

Lovely card, and you are not the only one who giggles when she sees the "G'day Mate" set in the catty! LOL

150 Swaps! That is a lot! No wonder you were easily persuaded to do a challenge! I love your great card! The ribbon is super cute!!

Welcome, Shawntel! I have to confess that I exaggerated a little (actually, a lot) - I wasn't intending to make that many swaps and only completed only 7 for regionals...

You are so funny Lin Mei! Great card too. It was nice to see you at Regionals. I beat you on the lack of swaps though and only took 3!! Too bad I missed out on a Lin Mei original (I do have a couple of those that I cherish though - so how lucky am I!) Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Hey Jo! It was lovely to see you at Regionals, too - and it was great that we greeted each other while I was supposed to be doing my celebratory jig at winning a door prize since I was stumped as to whether jumping up and down was better than waving my arms in terms of style points. I really missed out on your swap - limited edition of 3 is hard to beat ... I'll just have make sure that my two card-in-a-box-designed-by-Jo are kept very, very safely! Until next time...

Welcome to the addictive world of of Kristina challenges! What a great start! Love the originality!

I must say I didn't know what "She'll be apples" was or meant up until March this year when a non english speaking client I had at work said it to me very proudly because she had learnt some Aussie slang!! I look blankly at her as if to say "What the hell are you talking about? You can have my apples if you really want them!" Needless to say I giggle quiet a bit when I see that set. I was tempted to buy it just so I could make her a card! It's our little in-joke now!!

Anyways I'm rambling... As usual! Love your work it always rocks my socks!

Hi Dani! Great story :) If you could have another five in-jokes with friends, it may be worthwhile getting that set, Cobber (there's one right there!).
